How to Use the Radial Menu in Monster Hunter Rise
This is a very powerful addition that came in world and I’m glad to see it returning in Rise. You’re watching the topic hole and this is how to use the radial menu
The radial menu is similar to the item bar but you can
quickly move to the item you want as well as use it to pick emoji’s, and send messages
to your team.
First I’ll show you how to see it up in Rise and then I’ll
show you how I have mine setup in world so you can get an idea of how you want
yours to look.
Settings
You can get to your settings by opening the menu going to
settings options Controlls and it’s the 8th option. You’ll see that
there is Type 1 and type 2 so we’ll go over type 1 first.
Let’s look at some of these settings.
Type 1
The way this one works is you open your radial menu but
holding L1 you only need to move your right joy stick over the icon then
release the stick to use that item. If you don’t want to use any items to need
to let go of L1 to cancel it. If you are hovering over an icon then you need to
continue to hover before you let go of L1 or else you will use the item/ emoji
/ send the message.
Type 2
For type 2 you can still open the radial menu with the same
buttons but you need to click the right joystick to use the item and if you
don’t want to use an item you don’t have to worry about continuing to hover
since it’s doesn’t automatically preform the action.
Thoughts
Type 1 is faster if you want to use something over and over
but I personally like type 2 better. With type 1 I find myself spamming things
in chat while I search for what I want to use.
Setting items on the radial menu
Open the menu and select Radial Menu Settings and quest
There will be multiple shortcuts for you to use and you’ll just need to click
on one and you can use your right thumb stick to change the item to what you
want to use.
If any of you are wondering why you have to choose the
settings for Quest that’s because you can map different options for when you’re
in town.
Let’s change this to a dance icon. Now when I’m in a hunt
I’m able to easily use this option.
World Layout
We’ve switched to Iceborne so I can show you a more practically example.
I'm a gunner so here is how I have mine setup in a quest
I have tabs for normal items, ammo, crafting more ammo, and communication. You can only have 8 options total so I organized mine like this to make it easy on myself. You don't have to set yours up like this but I hope this gives you some ideas.
In world they let you create multiple item sets and register
them to your equipment so I'm expecting that to return as well.
Outro
This was a quick video I wanted to make since not everyone played world.
